Mini Red Final
The mini tennis red tournament was a highly competitive event with many close matches. The final was contested between last year’s winner James K. and a newcomer to the club Arlo V. James became victorious in the end beating Arlo 10:8 and successfully defending his trophy.
Mini Green Final
The green tournament was contested between Josh, Cameron and Michael. The winner in the end was Michael L. who successfully added the green ball cup to his orange ball trophy from last year. He is moving to yellow ball next year where he might find the competition a little tougher.
Girls under 12 Final
The girls under 12 final saw three competitors – Anna, Šárka and Tess. The girls played their final on Saturday 20 July, one of the hottest days of the year. They all coped amazingly well with the searing hot conditions. Anna came out tops and won the trophy for the first time. Below you can see the girls keeping cool in the hot weather by pouring cups of cold water over them!
Boys under 12 Final
Six boys competed in the Boys under 12 tournament. Jack G and Caspar R fought their way through to the final with Caspar beating Jack 6:3 and winning the trophy.
Girls under 16 Final
On Saturday 20 July in the biggest heat 5 junior girls competed in the Girls 16 and under club tournament. Despite the difficult conditions the girls played some amazing tennis and were all very competitive. The most competitive match between sisters Ellie and Jess, both unbeaten until then, came last. Ellie, who is still only 12 years old, beat her older sister Jess (14) in the closest match of the day 7:5.
Boys under 16 Final
The Boys 16 and under final saw two boys who have been rivals for quite some time now. Tom B and Reuben T both played a great match with many close games. Tom always on the attack hitting some amazing shots, Reuben a master defender and relentless retriever. In the end Reuben just had that little bit extra energy left on a very very hot day and came out victorious in two sets 6:2 7:5
Boys 18 and under Final
In the boys 18 and under final we saw Harry W and Will B. The boys fought the match on a Sunday morning and Will beat Harry 6:0 6:0.
