12 players enjoyed a (socially-distanced) American Tournament on the 27th September. Everyone played 6 short sets, each with a different partner, and amassed their own points.
The ladies’ results were all very close, with Rachel and Laura narrowly winning in a tie for first place with 17 points each; the men’s result was more clear cut, with a win for Neville (21 points) and Gerry taking 2nd place with 17 points. A very enjoyable morning.
This event was originally intended to be the official opening of our new courts and lights, but restrictions prevented this happening.
We all raised our water bottles to our lovely new playing facilities.
