On Sunday, 27th December, we held our 3rd Christmas tournament. Weather forecast wasn’t great but Jana made the decision in the morning to go ahead and, against all odds, the sun shone and we avoided the rain (even if we did see it falling down over Newton!).
12 members took part – 6 ladies and 6 men – and had a very enjoyable time playing “American” mixed doubles. The conditions were excellent although the sun was almost too bright and quite tricky, especially on the far court, as you can see in the second photo!
The overall winners were Harry and Mac with 23 points. The lady who amassed the most points was Jana with 21, closely followed by Selena on 20.
Shame there was no prize for best fancy dress this year because there was really only one contender (check out his sprout boxers :D).
