Courts Closed from 5 November under New Lockdown Rules

Chair’s lockdown update

Dear Members

There was a Newsletter poised to go out to you at the end of last week, but we put it on hold in the light of impending restrictions.
I was fairly confident that singles tennis would be viewed as ‘outdoor activity’, only to be bitterly disappointed that it isn’t.
So – we have no choice but to close the courts from Thursday morning. The padlock codes will be changed.

It seems like the LTA are continuing to argue the case for singles; we’ll see.   Please note that Junior Coaching will go ahead this Wednesday November 3rd.

Two points of information:

  • Wimbledon opt-in has been deferred until the new year.
  • There will be an AGM, of some sort/form as yet undecided, in the Spring.

I’ll be getting the skipping rope out again.
Elaine (Chair)
