On Friday 13th 2023, we held a games night & social at the Rec Club – thank you to Wendy and Tony, who manned the bar, for letting us use this great facility!
Despite the date, the evening turned out to be a huge success, with 42 members (that is half the current adult membership) coming along. It was a bring-and-share supper and the food was absolutely delicious, from homemade quiches, sausage rolls and cakes to an amazing vegetable tagine with couscous (definitely my favourite, thanks Chris B.)! We played skittles, darts, pool, table footie and a variety of board games, met new people and caught up with others (some of whom) we hadn’t seen for a while. A huge thanks to everyone who turned up, brought food, joined in the fun and helped clear up.
A special thanks goes to Anita and Andy who had offered to be in charge of the skittles and did an amazing job – Andy moved so fast when replacing the fallen skittles that there is not one sharp picture of him! Most of us took part but there could only be one winner – congratulations, Laura!
And last and most importantly, an enormous thank you to Sarah who came up with the idea and organised everything, it wouldn’t have happened without her.
